This proved to be the film's biggest problem and mired it significantly; naturally I had fears that its sequel, Tokyo Drift would suffer from the same problem and henceforth kill the Fast and the Furious franchise. My fears, I'm happy to say, were vanquished and erased as I watched Tokyo Drift, and I'm also happy to say that it's an improvement from it's vapid predecessor. I cannot imagine that at a casting call with any number of actors (besides one) that this guy was the BESTWhile it was being shot could they not tell? It might have been a passable film with another lead. It's hard to tell though because I could not get past the incredibly uninspired deadpan tough-guy thing that the Lead was trying to pull off. It was almost painful to watch. As a matter of fact the film was so bad that I made this account for the sole purpose of warning others not to waste the time/bandwidth/rental required to see this movie. I've read reviews here at IMDb for a while but have never been so moved as to actually NEED to comment.

I had a conversation with a friend earlier this week, regarding the lack of effort being put into films these days. In the 21st century, there are very few films worth seeing, in comparison to the earlier 80's, and 90's. Back then, there weren't 100's of movies being churned out a week, with only 1 or 2 being even half decent.
